This can mean ensuring that your garden is more adequately secured, removing bird feeders, and securing garbage can lids tightly. If you do these things you will be taking away other sources and it will be turning to your bait as its only option.

Also make sure that you do not stop there. If there are other things that you think might make a tasty snack for a squirrel then make sure you remove these. You also want to make sure that your bait is something that the squirrel will really want. Don't just choose things that you think will attract the squirrel. You need to think like this animal. Squirrels want to store things so they want food that can last. This means that nuts and seeds, especially ones with shells, are the perfect things to use. Put a little outside the trap in a trail leading to the cage and you will see the results you want.
